Right so with this silly hose pipe ban in place I don't know how to wash my f430, so I wanted to get an idea of what everyone else here is doing?

Before the ban I used a non-touch method of washing which used a snow foam lance filled with traffic film foam and shampoo (which needs a pressure washer attached to a hose pipe) leave it on the car for 15mins and then spray it down using the washer and then used a leaf blower to dry.

Does anyone have any other other ideas to wash the car, with minimal use of clothes and so on? Any ideas would be much appreciated.

    Cheers,
    J

Try googling 'two bucket car wash' or take a look in the detailing section

For washing with minimal use of clothes, try googling "Bikini Car Wash".

2L bottles of SmartPrice mineral water are available from ASDA for about £1 each. :)

Alternatively... my wife also suggests that it is a "hosepipe ban" not a "water-usage ban". She thinks you can fill up the bucket inside the house as frequently as you want and there's nothing anyone can do about it. Providing you don't actually use a hosepipe, she says you'll be just fine.

    All the best,
    Andrew.

Use a Karcher pressure washer like me driven off a bucket full of water on the drive - not connected to the tap - just fill the bucket when empty by hand & repeat till done!!!

Works a treat and I have an email from South East water (see below) giving me the green light to go ahead.

    Cheers, Mario.

    "Hosepipe Ban

Thank you for your recent email to our Customer Service Department regarding the hosepipe ban.

I can advise that you are able to use your pressure washer, as long as it is not connected to the mains water supply. It is also acceptable to fill a bucket direct from the mains tap.

OK I will use a pressure washer fed from the tank in the loft via an upstairs tap which is not connected to the mains supply.
Thats crazy, a pressure washer churns out the same amount of water whether its fed from a bucket or mains. In fact very little is needed to rinse a car down as its so quick to do.

I use a watering can - there's so little paintwork on a spider that one or two trips to the tap does the job.
