Just wondering if any of you are into watches as well. Ive always had an image while growing up that when you became something or you were someone you had a nice watch, I couldnt tell you where i got that idea from but its always been with me. The more i grew up the more i found myself wanting nice watches . Now i work in a jewelry store and have access to some of todays more popular (not most technical but popular) brands and my appreciation for the technical side is far greater.

This should be coming into work for me on fri.

I like Rolex, although it is not the most technically advanced watch. I have an old datejust and a newer yachtmaster. I'm always impressed with the casios though due to their incredible price for the features and durability. Plus, they are pretty easy to clean. I think it started when I was a kid and I liked the watches my dad had (usually rolex president type watches). I recently got a Ferrari watch with the jump back hands for minutes broken into three 20 second sweeps.

Never worn a watch in my life... I can't justify spending thousands of dollars on something that just tells me the time. Plus my cell phone has a clock on it. And if I'm feeling sparky, I'll just find the cutest chick around and ask her what time it is :D

Now if money starts rolling in and I run out of things to spend it on, I might buy a few...

Ive looked at a couple of Breitlings and a couple of Rolex watches, but for the time being im just getting the most use out of company discount that i can since im only there for a few more months. We are a nation wide franchise but from our local stores Tag is the only brand i really care for, so aside from this ltd monaco im thinking of ordering the new Link Calibre S or the Aquaracer Calibre S Regatta when they ship.

I remember not too long ago when blu-ray had their demo cd's out in bestbuy it featured the art of swiss watchmaking. I just stood there and watched the entire thing, I compare a quality swiss watch to a ferrari or lamborghini - the craftsmanship and engineering that goes into either is amazing.

i have been collecting Rolex watches for the last several years. Specially the "special delivery" and other sport models. Its pretty rewarding and its amazing how prices have increased in the last few years...

Here is a website with Ton of info on Rolex vintage watches. (non commercial)
    www.doubleredseadweller.com

I also like pateks and panerai (non ferrari) but nothings beats a Rolex as far as reliability.

I am not a Rolex guy, I am really a Patek guy but appreciate all of the higher end brands & models as well as creative, unique timepieces. I only like my Rolexes for everyday use because they're reliable and more importanly, durable.

I am a watch 'junkie', and started collecting watches when I ran a Pawn Shop in College. I think the fascination with timepieces comes from the fact that no matter what, time keeps moving forward.

I think the fascination with watches is while time keeps moving forward our hispanic girlfriends appear to be completely oblivious about the little and the long hand moving in circles.

Time to them is simply a suggestion. :D

It's not limited to your Hispanic girlfriends :)

Plus, it's something they want to remind us of how much we waste, or how little of it we spend on the things they want us to.

Yeah, even though a Timex will give you the same damn information, I have to admit I enjoy the "finer" timepieces as well; I have Tag, A Submariner, Concord, Movado, a Tommy Bahama (ok, the palm trees on the face were kinda cool, so I had to have it), and a couple of others too. I'd like to add a Tag F1 (I know - it's BMW), but that can wait a while.

Although I have some very cool watches..... the best watches I have ever owned were:

    1) Casio G-Shock.
    2) Ronald McDonald watch that was a prize w/ a Happy Meal.

I dunno'. Those darn watches kept awesome time, were virtually indestructible, and I didn't give a sh*t if I lost them..........

However, despite the merits of the above-mentioned super-duper "I am late" reminders, I still dig the finer watches........

I remember pricing a Patek that I liked. I was told it all depends upon the exchange rate at the time they ship it...............

I adore watches (almost as must as Fcars!!!) hahaha.
I have a Patek, Ulysse Nardin, and a Breguet. Of course I have the requisite Rolex, etc, though I really don't like Rolex's. The Breguet is by FAR the classiest and most beautiful. Plus, Mr. Breguet basically invented everything in the watch world!
