Personal choice re the band. I asked a while ago watch my Cosmonaute was worth at Watches of Switzerland , they said half its new replacement value, I was happy as that was what I paid in round figures in 2001.of Patricia ,whos son is a mad sports car guy, Lambos ect .
I realized just now , 50 year old watch , that is special, knowing you it was planned to have a Speedmasters within the period of "Man on the moon"? The Speedmasters at EWG is on hold ,I guess someone knows what a fine collectable one is .
I wore my Apple Watch today while having a drive in my Clubby. I am a small time Charlie so can only afford a car I built with my brother under his house. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Silly signature here to annoy KIAI
That show is a joke with valuations...Specifically the fine furniture and decorative arts...Halve the valuation they give and you might be in the ball park..
that’s correct, Rob. I wanted a Speedmaster from that Apollo era. Also, 1971 was the last year of the step dial. After 1971, the dials were flat. See pics attached. To me, this also makes the 1971 a bit more special than the Speedmasters that came directly after it. My watch’s s/n indicates it was a January 1971 production (according to the Omega archive). Yes, the EWG Speedy looked great, and was on the money, price-wise. I think 1861s will start to appreciate now they are obsolete. The new one isn’t flight-qualified (yet?) either. Well Gazz I dunno,as you maybe aware they've done post show programmes where some folk have taken the item to auction and won. How selective they are is.......
