So I never noticed this before, and honestly I never looked that closely since why would I drive my F430 Spider in the rain? But sure enough today, it was dry at home, it was dry in SF. But did forgot to check the in between and when driving through Oakland it was pouring rain. During this adventure I noticed the back of my neck (and top of the passenger seat) being pelted with rain drops. Looking back I noticed the window glass doesn't go all the way against the "felt" like material behind it. Is there some weather stripping there I'm missing? Is this just "the way it is?" Can anyone with a Spider post an up close photo of how the driver's side window meets the pillar behind it? Thanks in advance!
i'm having the exact same issue on my 360 and my plan of action is to take the door card off and adjuster the vertical rail adjusters at the bottom of the door for the glass to adjust the angle inwards to see if that'll make the glass touch the felt pad on the B pillar. post #6: http://www.clubscuderia.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?42205-360-Window-Alignment
Hmm sounds about right on my 360 Spider there seems to be a slight wind noise there at high speeds. The window doesn’t have an actual gap but doesn’t fit up against the felt as tightly as it probably should.
I found mine did it in torrential rain - unavoidable on a long road trip. The root cause was a combination of slightly worn window clamps (it's a really cheap aluminium part) and slightly out of adjustment seals. I don't think it will ever be perfect though because of the large join in the seal half way up the B pillar.
Yeah so it sounds from the replies like I could make it "less bad" with some effort, or just stick with not driving in the rain. I know which option is easiest
