I was pulling my valve covers off to reseal them and do the cam seals and noticed in the distributors there was a water/oil mixture in them, nasty creamy oil. I guess water is blowing in through the breather system or the seals were bad, but they looked good when I pulled the housings off. Also noticed a fair amount of water in the CIS box, only way it got there would be if the air filter housing wasn't seated properly. Car drove into the shop fine. But the water still scares me.

anybody else experience this. engine oil appears to be OK, going to drain it tonight for a further look.

    85 Mondial QV engine.

I'll post up some pictures tomorrow off everything, doesn't look good. Might have sucked up water, going to drop the exhaust, axles and pull the motor and pull the heads. Hope its not a boat anchor now.

Remove the spark plugs, turn the engine by hand, then with starter. Does watery oil or oily water come out of cylinders? Look inside with a flashlight. What do you see on top of the pistons? Is it wet? Once you're sure cylinders are clear, do a compression test. If all cyls come out ok, head gaskets and cylinder walls are ok. Drain a little oil from the pan. does water come out first? If so, serious bummer. If not, start and run it for a couple of minutes til temp comes up, watching oil pressure. Does it fluctuate up and down? If so, bummer. Look at dipstick. Milky? If so, bummer. If not, clean out the muddy stuff, change the oil and drive it like ya stole it. Just my 2 cents.
