Just had my every 5 years service but it was done 6 months much earlier because of a leaking water pump . Ordered a replacement water pump from AWitalia in NJ . The water pump had the upgraded metal impeller and bearing . The job was all straight forward except for some difficulty in removing the old water pump due to stuck bolts . Bolts were sprayed / soaked w/ WD40 by mechanic for 2-3 days and eventually it was unbolted .
Job done was replacement of timing belts , alternator , water pump and AC belts .
Coolant , engine oil change and transmission/differential oil was replaced as well . Happy w/ the car again . Now it needs a little R134 freon charge .

Just an update 2 weeks after the servicing my Mondial developed a high pitch sound when idling and gets louder when the engine is revved . Due to my mechanic's busy schedule he was able to check out the car 1 week after , he was suspecting that the water pump that I ordered from AWitalia might be the culprit , but upon carefully checking the source of the noise he discovered the noise was coming from the idler pulley bearing near the water pump. Good thing good quality bearings are generic and are readily available here in our country the Philippines.

    Hi Audio Research,

I had that kind of squeeking noise on my T and it was the generator's belt tensioner roll.
However, after having installed a brand new bearing into it, the noise came back and was only silenced by loosening the tensioner to a point where the belt will slip slightly at cold-starting the engine. Once warmed up, no more squeeking noise nor slipping belt.
Not exactly to my liking, but the other bearing that might have turned dry is the one on the generator's axle itself and I hope that it will survive until the next full service.
