During an EO, if the motor has been v well maintained, and there's no problem to speak of, would the WP be rebuilt just because, 'you're-in-there'?

Typical lo miles usage. Issue isn't rebuild parts $ or time. I just don't like disassembly that's basically unnecessary. Wear on fasteners, handling scratches etc. when it's basically perfect. And I know WP's can last a really long time. My Lancia went 320,XXX miles over decades of use and bearings were smooth as silk when checking during belt service and didn't leak a drop.

    Thanks for input.

Your BB is not a Lancia. The water pump seals are a known weakness. I have been working on them since Carbed BBs were still in production and based on experience we never did a big service with the motor out and not replaced the seals. They are the same seals used in 308 of the period and the 308 was famous for water pump leakage. The 308/328 was around long enough a good seal was finally incorporated but the BB was out of production by then.
Lower cam drive bearings should be closely inspected. Again same design as early 308 and 308 was well known to have problems there. And yet again the 308 was around long enough it got 2 redesigns of the lower cam drive that the BB never received. 308 was built in such large numbers failures were more common and that taught us and Ferrari where weak points were. If you are unaware a BB engine is basically a 308 engine laid out flat and 4 cylinders added. They share a lot of engineering and a lot of parts.

Also water pumps seem to be one of those items that suffer from infrequent use. Your Lancia at 300+ thousand kilometers sounds like a daily diver. I suspect the BB is not.
