Just caught in an enormous rain storm here in the UK and I discovered some water in passenger footwell and in the boot (trunk to my US colleagues) below the bootfloor trapped between what seems to be the bootfloor and the bodywork that curves under the back of the car. TO get to it I put my hand down past the rear lights and follwoed the curve round.

Surprised to fiund no drain hole (even my alfa has drain holes in the boot in the tyre well).

Is there a quick fix or is there a block drain holes that I need to clean up ?

ANy views on common causes of the front leak (yep I understand don't drive in the rain is an answer)

Thanks, as ever for help for a newbie.

I loved driving mine in the rain and snow. It is quite an experience!
    GT or GTS?
On my GTS I added the drain holes in the trunk (boot) . Water going into gthe trunk has nowhere to go.
Front footwell can get water forced in through the wheel wells and from under the car. I always carried a roll of paper towels when travelling in the wet. if you remove the carpets and examine the fiberglass tub, you will see all sorts of places where water can be forced in.

its a gt and yes it was fun BUT i need to get my air blowers working better.

Glad it has such a high air intake too, there was a car stranded that had sucked up the flash flood on the A40 elevated section in London.

Where did you put the holes ?

That used to be a fun piece of road at 4.00am when the clubs closed.
In that kind of rain it's inevitable that some water will find its way in. Take a look at Omgjons restoration threads, you will see examples of places that can be sealed that were not originally sealed. You might find it interesting to remove the seats (now you get a chance to clean up and grease the seat glides) take the carpet out and look around the fiberglass tub. Areas I found needing attention were the pedal box area, air vents in the footwells, handbrake area as well as some random holes here and there. Check windshield (windscreen) seal as well. Of course if it only happens in flash floods, then...........
As for drilling holes ....... In the rear wing areas, there are removable fiberglass pockets, the area under them is sealed and if water gets in there, it has no where to go. I drilled there. Be careful make sure you really need to do it. Plan the exit points of the holes. having drilled, you need to make sure the bare metal is protected against rust etc. etc. By the way, which ALFA?
