My car has a clear bra. I noticed some "swirl"-like scratches that run horizontally where the paint on the bonnet meets the clear protector. I'd like to try and machine out those scratches, the problem is I would have place my buffer between the protected area and the non-protected area. Is there a problem with machining over a clear bra?

a light polishing is ok. YOU CANNOT polish clear bra like you can paint!
Which film is it? There are self healing - Xpel ultimate and suntek PPFC, you can use a heat gun or steamer and the swirling will diminish, or remove depending on severity.

also, put down some blue painters tape on the clear bra while you are poling the painted area as to not chew up the film.

You can polish clear bra the same way you polish your paint. It is completely safe to use a machine, but know that you may not need to be as aggressive on the clear bra because it is often softer than paint... so do a test spot to be sure.

Agreed. Be more wary of the seams. I have paste waxed my car only once since the clear bra went on last winter. I am still removing wax residue from the wrap edges. You need q-tips and a very tiny soft plastic razor like tool. Maybe a soft tooth brush and a slow hand? Also, be careful about tight curves especially on lower bumpers. I noticed one tiny bunch crease lifted that you can't see from above. Wax got under there and now it's a bright creamy dot. Luckily you can only see it when under the car.
