Hi to all! I am just back from Tailwheels etc. Flight school. With my private Cert. Had my check ride tues. 27 feb. I had been studying since nov. for the FAA knowledge test which i took on feb. 9 then began to fly a Beech A23 Sundowner. Solo on 15 feb. I can truely say accelerated is the way to go if you have the strength for the program. It was not easy & when i was not in the air learning I had my nose in books for the oral exam & preping for the check ride. VOR Nav Traffic pattern work Flt. maneuvers. Setting up flight plans for my solo X-countries & so on. learning to comm with ATC, nite landings, learning the POH of the Beech. In total I have 48 hrs in my log in 15 days of flying There were days when I just feel into bed exhausted. 15 hours at the airport, no time for anything but Aviation.. But it was great. Now I have my License to learn. Now that it has been done, I can imagine that to do this over the course of months & even years may be harder due to the catch up required with flyin the plane so infrequently. I spent most days flyin 3 to 5 hrs. No time to forget a thing. I would recommend accelarated training. Thanks again to all for your insight.

    Congratulations!

You are right about staying current. It will all come back to you quickly though - don't worry. Part of the drill is practice, and the rest is confidence.
