THAT is neat! I remember the Old Man liked him back then and he obviously made an impression on Luca. I always liked the way he drove. Also note another "veteran driver" proclaim that the new cars are as dificult to drive as their old beasts. Technology? Methinks so!

BTW, are we the only old farts who remember these guys?

I know about Carlos, He is one of my idols.

Sucks he never won a championship.

I bet it was a one of experience.

Another cool pic, Andreas! I remember reading in one of Niki Lauda's books about how frustrated he'd get when he'd spend so much time setting up his car, and then on the grid some photographer would come along and set his camera bag on the wing, possibly screwing up the setting. Apparently 'Lole didn't field the same concern.

Thanks! I'm glad I even got this shot. At that time I was a huge Alan Jones fan, so I got him covered head to tow, but this is the one and only shot of Carlos.

How old was Carlos when this was taken? He looks like a 'veteran' driver back then! The grid is a lot younger these days isn't it? I wonder if the grid of 2020 will feature anyone over the age of 20!

True, he looked veteran at that point, which I think was 1981.
