It's a team event, without the hundreds of people, no driver would win anything.

I do believe however the WDC is more dramatic and favorable when it comes to story lines and fan support.

WCC, I would like to Ferrari back on top. At this point either one of the two would make me happy.

WCC is the single most goal of every team. The WDC is just for ego and a reason for a driver to want more $$$.

Yes, the WCC may be the team's goal but they really don't get much recognition. There are a lot more WDC t-shirts, hats, flags, signs, etc, than WCC. Have you ever seen a shot of the team getting the WCC trophy? How about the team getting anything? They have a team representative doing the acceptance, which dilutes the "team" significance of the accomplishment. The idiots don't even have a way for the driver to pass the bottle of champagne to his team mates if he wants to, they have to drop it from the podium - does this look as if the team means anything? I think even the FIA sees the WCC as being less important than the WDC.

WCC...this year championship is even more wanted...Ferrari turned 60...so the obvious goal is the WCC...

I like both drivers this time, is the first time in DECADES that we have 2 drivers that can spank each other lap by lap...

now we need reliabilty back, along with Ross Brawn...

WDC because it's harder to attain. If one of your drivers is slacking a little, the other can work a little harder to keep the WCC hopes up. You can make more mistakes when trying to get the WCC since you have two guys going for it. In WDC, it's all on you.

Usually you have to have a WDC in order to get a WCC. Not always but usually.

Drivers are motivated by the WDC. that possibilty is the carrot that attracts the great drivers.

For the drive it's the WDC.

    For the team it's both.

The results aren't really surprising, considering this is a Ferrari fan-site, and Ferrari have no hope at the WDC.

...ehmmm...mmm...I think you just misread the poll graph.

The World Drivers Championship is winning...

besides, we have HOPE on both...lets just say McLaren gave us the perfect excuse: if they win anything?...is because they cheated, if we win any? ...we did it despite they cheated on us...

WE ARE BETTER IN ANY WAY...(although dont look at reliability too close)

wcc. i'm a ferrari fan. i'd cheer for hitler if he was driving for ferrari. drivers come and go. some great, some not so great. the car stays. the wdc is for the show. sure a charismatic driver brings more fans but they are fair weather friends. f1 is not nascar. ask the average nascar fans who jeff gordon drives for and i'll bet not many know. f1 has been about the technology. when a pesonality emerges, mores the better but remember it's the car that makes the driver in most cases. but on the other hand there's taki sato. he has struck a perfect balance of car, ability and personality. if they gave the wdc for doing the most with what you have i think taki would be in the running. forza ferrari.

    1) That's pretty screwed up.

    2) I'm not even a NASCAR fan and I know he drives for Hendrick. I'm willing to bet anyone that calls him or herself a NASCAR fan would know that. Even someone who watches ESPN regularly would know that given how much they say their cars are the best (and with Junior going there).

WCC: It's a manufacturers' series. Drivers get more ego boo winning a spec series in identical cars.

Lose the F1 WDC, and you can blame the car.

(Unless the team wins the WCC. Or your rookie teammate wins the WDC. Then it's a bit harder to explain. ;))

... or, at least, it used to be a manufacturers' series -- BC: Before Concorde.

Did McLunk earn that #1 on their car?

screwed up? how? hitler was a race fan and a fan of racing technology. when he needed someone to design a car for the masses who did he call. dr porsche. he had a f1 driver as his chauffeur. he supported mercedes and auto union.. i think you may be a nascar fan and just be unaware of it. i have no idea who hendicks (sic) is or who drives for them or do i care. even with speed channel's cramming nascar down our throats i choose to pay it very little attention. i supported schumi as the best ferrari pilot, althought as a sportsman he did leave some doubts as to fair play, but as a rule i cheer for the number two driver on the team. which in of itself has been hard, eddie irvine was a hard pill to swallow, but rubens was a very good fellow. i've been a ferrari fan since 1956 and was thrilled when phil hill joined the team along with "taffy" von trips in '59 and was knocked out when he won the wdc in '61 along with the wcc, although it was at the cost of one of the gentleman racers of old. i felt cheated that we were not able to see hill drive at the glen that year but as a team fan i understood. i am a ferrari fan. when i'm cut i bleed rossa corrsa. that's why to me the constructors title is more important than the drivers. but i wonder with a handle like yours, bmw.sauberf1team, it would seem you'd be able to understand team allegiance or maybe not. after all this is ferrarichat.

You have a lot of information there that really has nothing to do with what I typed. I know very well what Hitler did automotive-wise when he wasn't busy killing millions of people. Thank you. For a second, I thought you were being sarcastic when you said you would cheer for Hitler. Now it looks like you were not. That's pretty disgusting that you would say something like that about a person that killed over 20 million people. That's not even funny if you were joking.

As far as your second remark regarding NASCAR, I am not a NASCAR fan. I do follow a few races, but only to see how JPM is doing. My original post was in response to you saying:

I never said you should know what team he drives for, but rather the people you categorized as "average nascar fans." They do know who he drives for. I even gave you an example that I know who he drives for while not being an "average nascar" fan.

actually i was being facetious not sarcastic. sorry if i bruised any p.c.ers feelings. maybe i should have said i'd have cheered for pol pot or osama bin laden. i must admit jpm seems to have fit quite well in nascar. it's the perfect venue for a cowboy. although i have no idea who he drives for. just to refer back to the thread do you prefer wdc or wcc? there was no reference to it in your post. oh, by the way skip "the producers" either the movie or the show. you probaly won't see the humor in it either.
