We all in some way shape or form know these guys and it would be nice to spawn a forum for just these.

These are more or less "privateer" reallies, unlike say the Monte Carlo Rally which is part of the WRC series.

    What, no Ultimate Rally?

    j/k :D

That's not a bad idea but maybe just deote a site/discussion board for events like this.

Actually an old debate we had here on FChat for some time:

Should the racing forum be split into "spectator" racing and "active" racing. So far the decision was to keep them together because there are much less "active racing" threads.

Also regarding your rallies: Sounds to me, that they should be either in the General Forum or in the regional subforums where the event takes place.

Cool stuff btw. I met some Playrunners and some Gumballers and what they do is simply amazing. Blows my mind.

Sounds to me that they need to be sponsors, and then they can have their own forums. These are not non-profit charities.

Well, these re not regional per se. Bullrun starts in Montreal and winds up in Key West. Otherwise it is just a drive.
Well we all talk about Ferraris here all the time so they should sponsor this site? I disagree, these are enthusiast endeavors and competitions. They are on other forums, maybe a thread here and there, but a whole sub-forum just for rallies, well isn't this the spirit of us all? Truth be told the vast majority of fchatters will be just spectators anyway.

This really shouldn't be in this section, anyway. They're not racing or competition, just one big party for poseurs.

While they party a lot and do flaunt their richness, they are serious drivers. The risks they accept and how hard and fast and long they drive their cars is reminiscent of Mille Miglia races and the like.

I know I wouldn't have it in me to do what they do.

What about an Autocross forum? What size cones do you use, etc.? :)

What about the risks they impose on those unsuspecting drivers they blow by on the roads?

While it sounds glamorous and fun, I have to take a dim view of events which put the general public at risk for the entertainment of a few people with lots of money. I am sure most of the drivers strive to be safe, but if there is speed and competition involved, you know they are playing with OTHER people's safety.

out of all of them La Carrera is the only REAL rally, the rest are kind of people with fast cars acting dumb, but then again what is the difference between that and ANY drive event?
