We just traded our 2002 bentley arnage for a 2006 bentley flying spur. its cypress exterior with saddle interior. heres how it went: we were in chicago for the weekend so we stopped by bentley just to see there showroom, but in the showroom was a cypress flying spur, my dad starts looking at it and loves it! the dude goes would you like to drive it? my dad goes "get the papers ready"! he grabs the keys to the mercedes slr that was sitting outside the door and moves it ( it was a cool car to ) we drove the car out of the showroom went around a block and then we came back to the dealer and bought it! but we traded the kleeman s55 amg and the 2002 arnage r, two cars that will be missed. so next friday the car will come to michigan and we will give them our two cars. will post pics on friday night.

Some say FS is not a "real" Bentley but it runs circles around the Arnage in performance, handling, safety and interior space.
You will enjoy it much more then either of your trade-ins.

Aw, cut the kid a break. After all, how do you know that Dad doesn't do the same thing: "Geez, we just gotta a new Xbox!"
"You guys see the new X-Men movie?" "I got to stay up 'til 11 the other night!"
Let's just hope not all his thrills are vicarious. But, I can understand how a youngin' gets all excited about car purchases made by the family. Hopefully, when the kid grows up, he will make his own way.

I hope so. And I do understand his enthusiasm, but whart, it's like nails on a chalkboard.

(When I was the same age, it was "my dad's" and I clearly recognized that it wasn't "mine", or "ours", for that matter. I didn't earn the dough to buy the toys and it certainly wasn't my dough that bought the toys.)

And, kid, check my profile to find the name of a familiar tuner shop.

Its cool that your dad likes nice cars but there are kids here who's dad's have enzos and Diablos, etc. and they don't have any of them in their profiles and they talk about what they like and drive. Most people aren't going to love stories about your dad buying your brothers Bentleys for gifts etc. when most people have to work very hard to get these cars. Enjoy your dads success but remember you are your own man and I am sure you have other things to say besides flaunting all the cars your dad may or may not buy.

I agree with you. It does remind me of schoolyard bragging; which we might overlook from an immature kid if it happens infrequently. However, this isn't a schoolyard and he keeps doing it despite private and public input on the subject. Even in the schoolyard, the kids that brag the most often hurt their own popularity.

  11. VK,

I am glad you share your enthusiasm for your dad's purchases. Everyone has dreams and you are fortunate enough to be able to enjoy exotic cars first hand. I'm sure you and your father share the joys of these cars with many of your friends.

I think too often people will take your comments as arrogant bragging. But its not bragging if you can back it up. Good for you and your father.

Just keep your head on your shoulders and never look down on others unless you are helping them up.

Things like this always irritated me in High School. There were always kids that used to flaunt their parents' success. I just always shook my head. They would say "so and so is so rich." I would just be like yeah, their parents are rich and not them. Still, it's great that your Dad is a successful individual, but...

BTW i was told that downers grove bentley sold a conti-gt to prince. it was custom lavender exterior with red leather interior. LOL!

Not to burst your bubble guys, but I think that a large percentage of "owners" on this site are representing their dad or uncle or neighbor or whatever. However, my dad and all the other guys I know with exotics have much better things to do with their time than sit around on web site. The one time I did show my dad this site his opinion was that it was for kids, and that I should go and read a book. I agree with you that it is annoying when they say it's theirs, but still, who cares, and we always like more pictures to look at. This is a place for discussion of Ferraris, and young boys like you were then, are obsessed with them. Running them off isn't worth the time. VK, the Flying Spur is a great car, enjoy it.

ROFLMAO! Sorry about all the work! If anyone's to blame, it's Billy--he put most of the stickers on the car.

As for the pic, that's me sitting in staging at VIR on this year's Cannonball Run/One Lap of America. My name was the one beside the Canadian flag on the rear windows.

Hey, you could just ignore his posts, your sour grapes are the only things that sound like fingernails on a chalkboard!

Hey, enthusiasm is a wonderful thing, my kids call our Ferrari's by "mine" or "ours" all of the time, my 16 year old has driven our Ferrari's often, so since she is a member of the "family" it is "our" Ferrari's.

I think the flags were Billy's, too. I definitely didn't apply those to the car. It's all Billy's fault! Actually, you'd think that the stickers would be easy to take off the glass.

Now, babysitting his child, on the other hand, is a job I wouldn't necessarily want. Hopefully he pays well.

I have lots of Billy stories, but none of them can be shared here.

I remember billy made me run 2 miles to the car audio shop to get a ipod cable for an e55 amg and then when I arrived the dude there said that billy called and he said for me to go back because the audio shop needed to do it anyway.
