USGP weekend, Schumi drives himself off on Sunday from the hotel in a Maserati Quattroporte, while Jean Todt leaves in a 612 Scaglietti. Both remembered to wear their seatbelts. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
well i'm sure Schumi has first-hand experience in crashes and how seatbelts save lives. Good for them showing this (not behind tinted windows) and thanks for the pics.
Wearing seat belts has been mandatory in Europe for many years, so for Schumacher and Todt it's second nature to put them on before driving away, I've always had to wear a belt so it feels weird not to wear one
Great pics! I don't feel comfortable without a seatbelt. My passengers never forget to buckle up if they've ever ridden with me before. Just doing my bit for road safety!
i always do and force my passengers to put it on. I am a heavy breaker - even with normal driving seatbelt helps me not to hit dashboard.
Always wear mine too. I think it is just because ever since I first started driving it was always "wear your seatbelt." It is second nature and feels unnatural without one. My dad on the other hand, has a hard time remembering to put it on and feels constrained by it.
I saw that 612 parked on the infield at Indy with a woman sitting beside it the whole time (with a cooler and an umbrella). I guess they have their own personal valet! It was a good parking spot too.
MS is wearing a small designer watch on his right wrist that is going for the shoulder belt. The bracelet is on the left arm of the woman sitting in the passenger seat of the Maserati, I believe she is Ferrari PR.
Thanks for the pics..... It does become second nature after sometime......... A shame most teenagers these days think its "not cool." Some of them sadly, die.....
That is a bracelet on his right hand. Its a woven piece with a buckle in either white gold or silver. Jean Todt has the same one and also wears an elephant hair bracelet I'd also like to know about that MS bracelet.
It will be a shame if Michael didnt wear a belt. The reason I say this is Michael and JPM have been promoting road car safety in an FIA program around the world. One of the things they preach is wearing seatbelts at all time. Though Michael seems to drive his US motorbike without leathers.... he needs to be more careful considering that our highways here are crazy...
I was talking with a friend about the airplane crash David Coulthard had in which two people were killed. Since it is probably even less common for passengers to be wearing their seat belts on a private jet - I remarked that the exception is when the passenger is a race car driver.
I cropped the original which was shot in 6mp. Can't really tell, looks like the winder of a watch on the side. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Funny...it has been mandatory here for many years as well. Probably the same amount of time as here. The US in fact is usually the first to implement those safety advances. Airbags being one.
