I'm watching the weather channel and they just showed the parade of Ferraris the crossing the bridge at the end of the Napa Challenge, and weather guy said, nice but he'd rather have a vette. (one of the cars was a silver 360 possibly a CS, and the passenger was waving like mad out the window over the roof, was that one of you ???)
He's just saying that because he cant spell F-E-R-R-A-R-I.. Its easier to spell vette................... lol
Kinda funny as one of the weather girls husbands drives a 348. Perhaps he is jealous. Who said it as a matter of interest?
it was just funny to see a blurb about ferraris on the Weather Channel of all places I just relized that I hadn't turned the channel so I rewound it (man, I love TIVO !!) and after doing a spiel on the 60 cars of all vintages (50's 60's 70's and present day models) crossing the golden gate he said, not a bad day to be out cruising in your ferrari, if your a ferrari kinda guy, me I'm more of a new corvette with XM radio guy. Personally I too would be hard pressed to take any 1975-1998 ferrari over a new C6 Z06 ! But that's a whole different thread of threads for that matter
In other breaking news..... An Op-Ed column in the Omaha Herald expressed a preference for Porsches! Let us gather the torches and pitchforks!
lets get him fired . shame on him. you should know that weather forecasters dont have any sense, they look at all their computers/doppler radar, and still cant give you a decent forecast for the next day ! and we are to respect his judgement on cars ...lol yea ok.
The new Z06 is sure to be a performer, and Im sure some would actually prefer it to a Ferrari...but the reality is that any 90's Ferrari ,and some 80's as well, could be traded in for the C6 Z06 with some cash to spare...in some cases, you could buy 2 of them! Wouldnt you rather go that way? Im sure you wouldnt have to be pressed that hard This is not to mention the fact that within a year of it going on the market, there will be a Z06 at every stoplight...no doubt dying to race any car with a higher price tag....just dont go picking on any turbo porches though, lol!
I don't think there are too many 348s out there that you could trade with cash to spare for a C6 Z06...
Come to Canada and see for yourself ! The market here is not as over-saturated with 348's as in the US. Even still, you must see my point...even if you have to pick on the weakest market vehicle in the 90's Fcar group! By the way, have you priced out a used C5 lately, ouch! Overproduction does have its price...the C6 market is starting to drop like a stone up here. I can only imagine what is happeneing down south! As I said, no argument in performance...the new Z06 is the bargain of the century, might even be the performance equal of the 430! But in terms of shear value, I know which car Id rather take.....and a little exclusivity doesnt hurt either This IS a Ferrari board, after all.... Goldy
Weathermen are also the same people who say its going to rain and then its sunny, what does he know about cars.
you couldnt trade a enzo for a c6 z06,because THE Z06 its not available yet!!!!! and before i declare it the sports car for the ages, i would like to drive it first!!!!!I love how people make judgements on cars with out seeing or driving or even reading real road taste on a production model.....
I have also thought it would be the coolest job, where else can you be wrong 90% of the time and not get fired !
true, but then you would have to sit around in boring congress meetings all day ! At least weather people get to sit around and ham it up with the hot news anchor chicks !
Point very well taken.....weather babes ARE disproportionately hot! I guess thats how they sell you a product you know in advance is going to be faulty.....
How is stating that one likes a Vette better than a 360 dissing the Ferrari? Are you that insecure that everyone has to like a Ferrari better than any other car? I love Ferraris and have owned 6 over the years including the BB512i I now own and still like the new Aston Martin DB9 better than any of the newer Ferrari models.
