I'm setting up a trip for my mom and aunt to HI. They are old and I'm sending them on the Norwegian cruise ship thing around the islands. It is the easiest vacation I can think of. Less stress being on the cruise ship and doing excursions only sponsored by the cruise ship. How is the weather this time of the year? I see some days are hotter and more humid and some days at lower dew points. Average high seems to be around 88 degrees now. They are in their 70's and will be doing several shore excursions. Should I send them there in August or should I tell them to wait until maybe November when it is cooler?

    Thanks

I dont think you would have any trouble getting responses in the Hawaii section for your questions but all that aside; Hawaii is a mixed bag of weather, the main thing that keeps it reasonable here no matter what time of the year are the trade winds. They are a constant and keep the clouds moving, the rain storms short and the humidity at bay. When they turn off which is about 5% of the time we all know it, thats really the only big deviation in weather that I would try to look for. November can be more cloudy and so they might miss the chance to see some spectacular sunsets and sunrises but its so hard to tell what will happen.
I think that weather this time of year has a higher potential for better memories and the only issue is if there is a strange weather system that shuts down the trade winds which blow constant and steady from the East 95% of the time.

    Good Luck and Aloha, Kevin

P.S. Let me know if you have any other questions about the islands or feel free to PM or post up in the Hawaii section for a broader view.

Thanks. I talked to my aunt today and told her about the weather. She is going to think about it and let me know. My mom has Alzheimers but waiting until maybe November would be OK. Or possibly Jan/Feb. Or she may say she wants to go now. I'll wait for her response.

    Thanks
