Hey Vinny! Got any insight into the weather in Los Angeles for the week of January 17th? The "big day" is Saturday, January 22nd. What do you think?
I am on it! From this range we can see from the longest range weather models that there will likely be a major flip in the weather pattern over the US from what has been the past two weeks, during which it has been basically warm in the east (75 in Richmond Va yesterday, its 65 in Charleston WV now even with snow and ice here and in New England) and very cold and stormy in the western Us including massive coastal rains and inland and mountain snows in California. About a week out from now, the pool of arctic air that has been replenishing itself all winter in Canada, will start to invade the eastern US and the west will quiet down and warm. Looks like southern CA will return to more near normal weather by the week of the 17th, but with a mild El Nino running out in the equatorial PAcific , can not rule out periodic rainly spells with central and northern CA favored for that. Remember we are talking now beyond where chaos theory says we should have any skill so I am out on a limb here but will update every few days.
Here's the weather so far, hopefully it will be this way when we get there to LA. speakin of weather, wtf is wrong with the weather here in NY?? since i got back it's sh1tty everyday, very depressing. should have stayed in HK longer, nice 70 degree sunny day there.
See my long ranger of January 5 above. The flip is occuring NOW and for at least the next two, maybe, three weeks, winter will turn fierce here in the northeastern quarter of the country with cold to very cold temps and snow threats every three days or so, with no doubt some events connecting, possibly big time. Meanwhile Southern California is returning to what it is famous for so enjoy, Emil!. I will keep the 348 indoor under cover and hope for a late "January thaw" maybe in early February.
Thanks for your expertise on the weather, not looking forward to the frigid weather that's coming but hey AutoRox is in a week! So we will be away for a few days
