Thought I'd share this with all my pals at F-chat If anyone remembers, I had once planned on attending Colorado State for track and field. In mid-July, my coach switched to Colorado University, so I was faced with the option of changing my schools or going to Colorado State and not have a multi-event coach. Some scholarship helped me make up my mind quickly Enjoy! Link to site: http://www.cubuffs.com/ViewArticle.dbml?SPSID=4064&SPID=265&DB_OEM_ID=600&ATCLID=1158251 Image Unavailable, Please Login
Alex Von Hagen??? Geee,....I didn't know we had a rock star on here. How is Eddie, Sammy, and David Lee Roth doing??? Is the reunion tour still on?
Congratulations, Alex - you've been a Track and Fielder for a long time, aye? http://www.eliteyouth.com/rf2005/rfindy.asp?KidKey=50250 How does your High School Letterman's Jacket look with all the medals on it? My Brother's was like a suit of armor, as his medals had to overlap, big time.
Very impressive. BTW, what is your current best height for the high jump and length for the long jump? I suspect most of us fchatters would have a little trouble clearing a 4-foot-high bar in the high jump (LOL). I remember attempting those two events way back in high school P.E. class - much harder than it looks.
Thanks everyone for you compliments!! It's greatly appreciated, this is definetly something I've worked very hard and very long for!! Your the first to EVER make that connection, crazy!! They're fine by the way Yes, I have. I started track in 8th grade against my will, by my sophmore year of high school things really took off and I placed 4th in the high jump at national meet, so I really wanted to pursue it!! I actually never got a lettermans jacket though; just didn't want one. But my coach would get me all the pins and all-state/all-confrence patches...so I got a whole stack of those in my room! My best in the High Jump is 6'6. I stand about 5'10, so it's kind of cool I think that I can jump 8 inches over my head My best long jump is 23'11 3/4 (7.31 meters for the Europe folk ). It's definetley my best event out of the 10 I do. At our league meet this year, I had a scratch that was measured at 25'1 1/4 (about 7.63m). That jump would have been a Colorado High School state record!! My coach is really great in long jump, he's had numerous nationally ranked jumpers including myself. In 2005, he coached the #1 and #2 nationally ranked high school girl long jumpers!!
Congrats Alex! Good luck with everything, sounds like you have a true coach who's there for all the right reasons.
