This is an interesting statement. If Honda can produce a competitive car? They had a very competitive car based on preseason testing times and on race day they sucked. I doubt they will change much. RB has been in F1 12+plus years, I don't think he'll "adjust his driving style to suit the car" at this point in his career. Perhaps the technical team at Honda need to "adjust their engineering style to suit the driver".

JB? He finally won his first race after 113 Grand Prixs (and that win was under strange circumstances). At this rate he'll be the next Ricardo Patrese. 'Nuf said.

McLaren has won well over 100 GPs, and Newey was around for perhaps 30 of them. He was around for 2 of McLaren's 9 WDCs. McLaren is more than just Newey and if you think they are going to be winless for any length of time, then you must be a complete idiot with absolutely no understanding of F1. They were a championship-winning team long before Newey showed up and they will be a championship-winning team long after he is gone.

Yes, Toyota has a big staff and they also have no stability. McLaren does. Comparing Toyota to McLaren is the idea of someone who has no clue as to what they are talking about.

Alonso doesn't need to bring anyone to McLaren, that team has a deeper bench of talent than any other in F1, including Ferrari. They also have a stellar record of achievement in F1. One disappointing season does not make them also-rans. Alonso will win GPs in a McLaren next season, mark my words.

If this is what you think, then I want to be on the other side of your wagers. You have no clue as to what you are talking about.

I agree with you except about Barrichello. How on Earth do you figure he's faster than MS over one lap?! Michael seems to have the ability to pump out fastest laps right when they're needed. Alonso is very consistent but I don't think he (quite) has the raw pace of Michael and Kimi.

Personally I'd say Kimi just edges MS for no. 1 when it comes to one lap pace, but MS has demonstrated over the years that he can deliver them more consistently (e.g. all the pole positions, fastest race laps).

 

easy... car advantage and fuel/team strategy.. at Ferrari, MS usually had a better and/or lighter car, despite that, RB often out qualified him or got incredibly close despite his disadvantages.

every where else he's been, Rubens has often been a rocket in qualifying, yet lacks consistency in the race... plus he's a big cry baby and emotional featherweight...which doesn't help.
