Many think it's some sort of conspiracy theory that Webber has never been treated the same as Vettel, but there's more than meets the eye, and probably we'll never know the truth.

I personally believe that Mark just lost his punch and accepted his fate as a second driver, I mean, having your team favor the other driver even if you are ahead of him in the points at the final race must not be very encouraging.

    Interesting read:

Never easy to be relegated to #2, but it was pretty obvious Vettel was the better of the 2 drivers, and not by a little bit. Very few admit defeat, and Webber wasn't an exception. But it must be even harder when a rookie kid is 'taking that away' from you, so I feel for the guy. Must have been pretty embarrassing. At the end, they start blaming the team, the teammate, or anything else... and only goes downhill from there. Just look at the current situation and see if the team didn't make the right calls every time. It's a cutthroat environment, and the weaker driver gets always relegated to 2nd... but obviously the #2 thinks it was too soon. Same thing with Massa. Everybody knows you can't really have two #1 drivers, and in the case of Webber and Vettel, it wasn't even a hard call to make. But that's life. As a side comment, I see a parellel between Mark Webber and Dany Pedrosa in MotoGP, especially compared to Mark's 2010 season and Dany's 2013: they both lost the championship to their much younger rookie teammates. And both have been unlucky and very close to winning a championship, but could never close the deal. Wish Mark well though; hope he wins for Porsche.

F1 has seen this problem many times before. There are a lot of 2 driver teams that eventually lose touch with one another. Even tho they are on the same team, each driver has his own team. Sometimes these teams stop shearing setups and data between each other when drivers don't get along. Perfect example that everyone knows about is Alain Prost and Senna. They were on the same team yet their teams shared no data in between each other and always looked over their shoulders in secrecy.
With all the media inflicting our lives I don't think redbull wants driver drama out in the open and I think both drivers know better than to do so.
Some drivers do better with other teams then others as well.
Also if you look at it from a higher up Redbull stand point. Would you invest millions of dollars and have an old driver win or would you invest in a new driver with a longer future in racing. Redbull is trying to build the new Shumi
