This should make the folks from down under happy ...

Ferrari is going to have to be creative to repute Horner's comment "We believe that the driver line-up of Mark and Sebastian is one of the strongest in the sport."

Red Bull Racing has confirmed Mark Webber for another year: the Australian driver will therefore line up again with Sebastien Vettel to defend the team's colours during the 2010 championship, adding a season to his original two-year deal with Red Bull.

32-year-old Webber signed his maiden Formula One victory at the German Grand Prix two weeks ago, his fifth appearance on the podium out of nine races held so far this year.

"I'm extremely happy that Red Bull and I have been able to agree to race together again next year," he declared. "Even in the leaner and tougher years at the start of my relationship with the team, I've always enjoyed working with them, so now to go through this purple patch, which we hope will continue for a good while to come, makes the work even more enjoyable."

Webber is currently third in the drivers' standings, very close to second-placed Vettel, with Red Bull second in the manufacturers' rankings.

"We've got a very exciting finish to this year's Championship, but I'm also looking forward to helping to develop and race the RB6 in the 2010 World Championship," Webber stated.

Team Principal Christian Horner is also obviously satisfied in holding on to Webber's services: "I'm delighted that we have re-signed Mark for 2010.

He has continued to show huge commitment and determination this season, especially following his bike accident at the end of last year."

Webber's podium tally follows a determined recovery: a head-on collision between his bike and a car last November left him with a badly broken leg and a heavily injured shoulder. The Australian will have additional surgery on his right leg following this weekend's Hungarian Grand Prix.

"His recent results show he is on the form of his life – most notably with his recent win at the German GP – and he has the motivation to deliver at the highest level," Horner said. "It was therefore a straightforward decision to extend the relationship."

"We believe that the driver line-up of Mark and Sebastian is one of the strongest in the sport," Horner concluded.

RBR is the best place for Mark, at 32 he is best to continue his momentum and more wins. Nobody wants to see him driving NASCAR
