Perhaps the most underrated driver on the grid? The guy is a machine in qualy, never been in any danger from being shown up by his teammates. I see him dominating Coulthard to the point where Coulthard retires.

Why has he gotten no love?

Because qualifying is the only thing he seems to do well.

On race day, he's usually non-existant. His last podium (Monaco) he got smoked by his team mate.

I'm not sure why either. I always find Webber as a pretty good driver.

It is also interesting to note on what happened to him at Le Mans back in 1999 with the infamous Mercedes-Benz CLRs. He was the one that experienced the whole atrocity.

Ummm, that was due to pit order more than anything. Even so, Heidfeld is one of the better drivers on the grid anyways.

for me, i think Webber is just overrated. Nick and Kubica are way better drivers, IMO.

I like Mark. He's quick, and a brilliant qualifier.

If a driver was "way better" wouldn't that mean he dominated the other guy? Nick didn't dominate Webber. At all. Probably one of the more even driver pairings.

I like him as well and think he has just been undone by driving for the wrong teams. I've read a lot of good things about him, especially his behind the scenes work with the mechanics and engineers and taking a general interest in the cars preparation, not just turning up on race day and putting on the helmet. It's a shame he's never been given a chance at one of the big 3 teams as I think he would have put in a fair showing, but unfortunately that time has passed and he is likely to stay as a competitive back marker.

I think there is hope with the Redbull team. Unlike Coulthard, Mark is likely to stay a number of years. I think they have potential to score some consistent points next year.

I thought Webber was going to be huge when he came out of Minardi. He seemed to have a no-nonsense approach that almost threw back to drivers of the 70s and 80s. But he's disappointed since then--nothing special, just a field-filler.

Oh don't you know? Anyone who isn't quite as good as Kimi or Alonso, sucks and is a waste of a good seat.

Oh come on, this guy's speed in qualifying is amazing. I've seen him put a Jaguar on the front row a couple times. He also put his Redbull in P7 in Autralia, that's no small feat considering your up against Ferrari, Mclaren, BMW etc.

No argument at all when it comes to qualifying, Jarno Trulli seems to me to always qualify well, it is in the race, that they start slipping down the order.

Webber was the driver of the CLR that did the backflip on the Mulssane straight?

You are correct, when he was at Minardi, I thought this guy would be the next Alan Jones. Unfortunately, to me he seems like he can nail one lap, but can't keep it consistent for the whole race.
