    Looking for a Weber 40 DFI 6 carburetor or even just the top cover. We have a 365 GT 2+2 (Queen Mary) in the shop with some abused carburetors on it. The front two top covers have their mounting screws and banjo-fittings over-tightened too many times in the past and they're basically junk. We tried many sources to find replacements without success but found one on E-bay. This model Weber was apparently also used on TVRs and other cars. Anyone here have any ideas, leads or even one of these loose carbs?

    My 365 gt had similar issues 10? Years ago I think. Mike pierce made a world wide search
    And found a carb body in the U.K. Which served me well. It was not cheap or easy, unlike some past girl friends.

    For a temporary fix you can try to fit a modern dfi carb which are readily available.
    I almost resorted to that option.

    From Fast Road Cars Ltd - Weber Carburettors :

    "The 40 DFI was used by FMC for Group 1 Capri 3.1 racing so they do turn up on some Ford Essex V6 engines which may be the best source.
    Over the years I have had customers take them off as too big for standard engines. So probably sitting around in garages!
    Maybe worth enquiring on Ford forums as I do not have anything, only service kits."

    We did some research and found out that several British Fords and a few Euro "civilian" type cars came with the same Weber. We found a guy in the UK who has one available but won't ship to the US. We are now asking him to ship it to a UK (non car guy) friend who is happy to forward it to us. Thank you for your input. It's much appreciated.
