Was talking to Frank Capo at Modena Engineering about some cams, and he asked if there would be any interest in re-tooling up for a run of cast manifolds for the 3.0 and 3.2 liter 4 valve cars that would fit either Weber DCNF carbs or the TWM throttle body Fuel Injection set up.

There is a set on my car and they are terrific.

    Any interest?

    Russ,

You need to post some pictures for the lazy amongst us who haven't time to wade through your previous posts to find the images.

And, yes, I could be (the TWM & efi setup).

He left out the word "intake".....it's a retro fit to ditch old injection and put (4) 2bbl carbs on the later 308/328 engine.....

Hair grows on your chest ,and other obvious attributes...

Here are the cast aluminum intake manifolds on a 3.2; These were beautifully cast by Frank Capo at Modena Engineering in Oz.

First pic: just the manifolds on the heads; these will fit either Weber DCNFs or TWM throttle bodies
Second pic: side view of the manifolds with 40 DCNF Webers mounted.

    Hope this helps!

    Russ,
I would be interested in some of those. May I ask what the price per set was on the first batch?

    Thanks

I'd be interested in an entire Weber carb conversion kit for a QV. Carbs, manifolds, linkage, fuel delivery, airbox, cold air hoses, etc...

Sorry for the thread drift here if this is off-topic...

Just wondering if going from the CIS to Webers requires a cam change as well? I'm guessing that it'll run fine without changing cams, but to take full advantage of the Webers a cam change would be in order. Is that about right??

I partially disagree. Required change? No.

Desirable change, probably, even with the old CIS.

Just curious. I know you are currently looking for a Euro GTB QV. Why look so hard for a QV when you would want to switch to carbs?

I like everything about the QB, except it's fuel injection. Webers would restore some of the beautiful intake sound and hopefully some of the torque.

I'd be curious to hear from anyone who has put webers on a QV.

Anyone know if there are manifolds to fit IDA's on a 2v motor?

    Hi Doug,

Sorry, not following you here. My question was simply: to really take full advantage of the Webers is a cam change necessary?

    Thanks.

    Hi Cliff,

I'm not a professional and i don't know on the QV but i will say Yes, you need to change the cams to take full advantage of Webers.

    Hi Chris,

Thanks, I'm no professional either but I'm guess you're exactly right here. I haven't mucked around with 308 cams before but I've plenty of experience with CIS and Webers on other cars (porsche 911 for example) and the Webers don't seem to like much overlap at all as the reverse pulse in the runners stalls the vacuum and flow - the Webers depend heavily upon the vacuum to supply the right A/F ratio, more so than the CIS which doesn't have the same dependence. My WAG on a cam for Webers would be very mild overlap but with more lift and more aggressive ramp. In other words, fairly extended durations but with more aggressive ramps such that the total overlap is less.

The CIS is such a mild FI system that a really aggressive cam does nothing for it - so best just to stay mild rather than wild in the cam department with CIS.

There are folks that have done a lot of cam work with CIS 911s going to Webers and I would think those lessons are equally applicable to the 308.

What is the price for all the parts needed for this conversion?

Are there any pictures (aside from what's posted) of a complete conversion with the Webers on a QV?
