A couple of years ago I found a website (since lost) that had recordings of some famous Italian racing engine sounds. GTO, Maserati 250F etc.

My not so famous engine's sound happened to be on it as well. I thought it was cool that I could hear the sound of the car I was contemplating to buy before hand.

Well I now have a cell phone that allows me to download something like this and use it as a ring tone.

I thought that might be fun.

Does anyone know of any website like this?

That one's worthless with only 2 Ferraris and the website looks to be dangerous.

The one I'm talking about was a legitimate site with some very cool cars on the list like 16 cylinders. Ah well meaybe it's just gone.

Looks to be dangerous? What does that mean? BTW, you are welcome.

Well it immeadiately started putting "other" things up on the screen. When I selected Maserati it put up some sponsers display etc. I dunno it just feels like I'll need to clean my pc again.

The site I'm looking for had quite a variety of engine sounds and as I remember it seems like it wouild have still been around.

Racing Mclarens, Jags, Porsches some nwe and a lot of vintage stuf.

I think I must just be stupid and not looking for it properly.

Sorry, I didn't mean to offend.

Those pop ads are what pay for the website to exist, as you will see the enginemusic site has had to curtail thier page to cut costs. You can install pop-up blocking software that would prevent pop-up ads. Bandwidth costs money, either the site sells ads or they have to have subscriptions to offset their costs.

No that's not the one I was thinking of. I think it was German or based in the UK perhaps?

You could just download the audio clips and they lasted 15 - 30 seconds.
