no time for the Jota 963 due to a hybrid system issue. this is a spec item, right? Porsche has had problems with the hybrid system elsewhere.
Yep its a spec item. A few cars had issues with it at Daytona. A few cars have had issues with the rear brake by wire system that regenerates for the hybrid. I think one of the Porsches did at Daytona. One of the BMWs did at Sebring. They did a brake change and the rotor that came off the rear was so worn you could see the internal veins!
Having watched them four hours yesterday I have to say the 499P sound is nothing special. Best sounding are the Cadillacs and the redneck taxi cab. I must say I was impressed by its speed and presentation, nothing to do with the junk Nascars Gene Felton and others brought in the early 80s which were appalling in quality and dead slow but sounded good. So to celebrate the 1-2 in pre-qualifying I made Ferrari richer by 32 Euros and bought the flag. Image Unavailable, Please Login

It is not built to any rule set and is being turned out by a very good team with top level drivers on the back of a comprehensive test program. Beating the GTE field was pretty much a given and ensures that they are not seen as a hinderance to the rest of the field.

Totally badass and an awesome effort. I loved how they beat all of the other teams in the pit stop challenge using pump jacks!
There's a porsche team: "do ve need zis?" I like how they shaved 250 lbs out of a normal cup car to get it to sub 3000 lbs. sjd
So the Camaro is racing in a separate class? I'm amazed it is faster than GTE cars. Is it bc the GTE cars are limited in power?
Like indy, where the top 12 got their own pole shootout, the top 8 of each class get their chance to go for glory... yesterday's quali set the grid from 9 down, but the top 8 get to set their starting order today. Two by two they will come.... Ferrari, Toyota, Porsche, Caddy. sjd
