I hope there will be no long interruptions. I have no confidence in their new pace car protocol: it takes ages to restart the race on such a long circuit.
Current forecast calls for thunderstorms from 12 noon to 5 PM local time tomorrow, followed by showers until 10 AM Sunday morning, then dry.
Not like F1, though the increased interest in F1 here wil probably bleed over to WEC. I think a bigger factor will be the much larger prototype field, especially with Cadillac, Ferrari and Porsche involved (and with Penske and Ganassi ties) and the NASCAR Camaro.
Full race is being shown on MotorTrend tv. You can stream it off their app as well. I will have it on mute and be listening to the Radio Le Mans commentary.
I think there are limitations to the speed at which they can deploy the hybrid power. Over a certain speed. So maybe it won't be as much help as it was in the past.
Very true. The ACO has reduced the advantage of four-wheel-drive in LMH, by only allowing it over 180km/h (?), when the effect of hybrid power would be more beneficial during accelerations. A couple of LMH projects were cancelled because of this.
View as in literally? Motortrend+ streaming, and Motortrend TV on some cable systems. View as in "Do most americans know about the LeMans race?" Nope. Endurance sports cars is a weird thing to the average person. People who are sports car owners will likely know more, and as more manufacturers have gotten involved, word has spread. Running a Nascar there means A TON more people will know about it now as Hendrick is one of the biggest names in NASCAR.
To literally watch it. I went to Motortrend site and the site keeps prompting me to link my cable service. I want to steam over browser and can’t see how to.
https://www.motortrend.com/plus/ I have slingtv...I can't remember if I put in a service link or not to get streaming...
I watched qualifying on my home P.C., which fortunately has a big 26" monitor, the same size as my TV downstairs. The web address is https://www.motortrend.com/plus/watch-live/.
You either need to sign in through your cable service or subscribe to MotorTrend +. I think it is like $5 a month or something and you can cancel anytime. Once you do you can stream through the browser. Or if you have cable you can just watch it on tv.
I am going to go out on a limb that they did it simply to make balancing all the different formulas a lot easier.
Ferrari will most likely do a 50 & 51 in car live feed on their you-tube like they have with all the other races this year. Live timing on the WEC page
Here is the Ferrari AF Corse paddock team and guest hospitality compound, photos taken Wednesday, most impressive and very nice graphics. The nice thing is they are only 100 meters from their pits, in a 24 hour race that counts, sometimes they end up located quite far.
