    the 250LM that won Le Mans in 1965 was entered by NART. I don’t recall how independent they truly were though

    Of course, the F1 cars entered by NART at the end of the 1964 season (painted blue and white) were privately entered, but they didn't win either race, though the points they won did lead to the championship.

    And Kubica is only the third driver (after Webber and Alonso) to have won both world championship F1 and WEC races. And what an international trio of drivers: a Chinese, an Israeli and a Pole!

    JMB won a bunch of races in the FIA sports car championship with a 333sp in the late 90’s/early 2000’s but not sure that was an official “world championship”

    Kubica could have had wins with Ferrari in F1 and WEC were it not for an unfortunate rally incident

    Very As Ferrari were asking them to back off as they were on different tires and didn't want that brand to win if I recall and they said no and won it anyways
