Very informative stuff Pap and great pics. A link to the 348 F-Chat thread would be appreciated by the brotherhood I'm sure. You should start work on publishing a 348 information manual entitled, "Pap's Ferrari 348 Infopaedia".

Cheers mate. :) That engine oil was Shell Helix Ultra. That was used last time. That oil was 18 months old and had done around 6000km. I dont really care for Shell or Agip oils. Mobil is the only 'normal' oil I would use. More interested in the 'top shelf' oils like Redline, Royal Purple and Motul oils. :) I will try some Royal Purple oil next year and go from there. :) Bloody bastard swallowed 10.5L of engine oil!! :):) The air filter was blown out, still like brand new.

Handy little 3/8" torque wrench that!! Goes up to 100ft/lbs. My friend who was heavily into drugs at the time, sold it to me for $20 so he could buy more drugs. Was a brand new torque wrench that he paid $240 for a month or so earlier. :)

I got my a/c gased today. :) ICE COLD! :D:D Boys did a great job in getting it just right. It only took around 10secs after start up before my face started to freeze. I fitted the new reciever drier this morning then dropped the car down to them. You usually have to start vaccing down a/c system within 30mins-1 hour of opening receiver drier to atmosphere. System was vacced down for a few hours, then gased her up, adding in 30ml of compressor oil. A/c is better than it has ever been! :):)

Went over to my brothers this morning just too see how cold the air con is now, using his multimeter with the infra-red function we did a performance test on it.

We measured a negative -2 degrees at the vent with the thermostat on the coldest setting and the fan set on the lowest speed, no wonder my face was freezing :D

While we were there we measured the exhaust combustion gasses at low idle and got a moderate 139 degrees at the tips :)

CAT tools everywhere in the Isa, eh?

-2°C at the vent is great. A/c in my car is kaput and on the "to do" list...

We have a Hastings Deering/CAT dealership here. We can get tools cheap through them, so my brothers tool box is loaded. :):)
A/C is probably better than new. The best it has been since I have owned the car. I have the entire service history with my car from new and there have been mega dollars spent on the a/c system. Always getting reciever drier/gas over the years. Also been through 2 evaporators. They cost alot. :(:(

Late last week, a close friend of mine Wade, lost his father to Leukemia (my Papou also died from Leukemia in 2000, in Greece). :( He was a good man, had alot of time for anyone that needed his help and he knew ALOT of people. I mean ALOT of people. Over 1000 people are attending his funeral today. I was having lunch before with Wade at the local Buffs Club, when in walks Shane Webcke (Pap is a big Broncos/Webcke fan). Shane flew in today for his fathers funeral as he is also a close family friend. I got to talk to the big fella for a while. He is a really nice guy and he has got some big cannons under those tight sleeves of his. Unfortunate we had to meet on such sad terms, as everyone is still very upset. We still got to enjoy a few cold beers together and will have a few more this afternoon at the wake, to toast this great man that was loved and respected by all who knew him. :)
