If you had the money, would you spend $4M for a weekend on a space hotel?

  1. Yes - you only live once and this would be the ultimate experience.

  2. No - it's a waste of money (I'd rather buy a McL F1, Enzo and Veyron)

They're saying that there are 40,000 people in the world that can afford this. That sort of makes sense, as I've seen stats that say there are about 80K people with liquid net worth of $30M or more. So the 40K possible customers are probably around $40-50M net worth or more.

Would you spend up to 10% of your net worth to take a once in a lifetime trip?

And who do you think put up $3B to back this?

The 3B most likely came from people like Paul Allen. Seems to be definitely worth the money.

You can't put a price on happiness. While, I voted for the 2nd option, if it gets 4Mil to clear off your mind then let it be. Personally, I'd rather travel to different places and spend less rather than one expensive vacation.

2012? That means 4 years at the most....

Um, I think I'll believe this hotel in space when I see it.

I agree with Msoltanian as well. At least here on earth, you can easily see most of the world for whatever they expect to charge for 1 trip. Besides, what are you going to do after taking the trip around earth? There's no scenery like on earth (at least scenery I wouldn't bother spending millions to look at), and worse yet, there are no golf courses. Everyone knows high-dollar hotels usually include a nearby golf course....

Ummm quite some time I think, apparently getting the 'gear' to work in zero-G is damn near impossible. there was a porn movie filmed aboard a 'vomit-comet' ? in the 80's anyway the problem was the guy couldn't get it up due to the zero-G, blood pressure issues. not to mention out of the people who can afford it, how many could actually withstand the trip and a zero-G environment?

Just think how far you can drive a ball in space!!!!

I'd love to travel into space. Definitely worth the risk of being blown up...... excuse me I have to go and roll up some pennies.

If I was as rich as the Ikea guy or Bill Gates I would go for. How many people ever get to go into space? It would be like joining an elite club.

I'm not sure I'd really like it. I would like to be that much closer to the stars, but the experience doesn't seem like my thing.

It says the hotel could get around the Earth in 80 minutes. It must be booting it because the space shuttle does it in 90 minutes.

Voted #2, though my choice of cars would be Vintage...say 275GTB/4, 250 SWB, 275 GTS, Dino, 330 America, 365 2+2, whatever else spare $$$ would buy.

You live a lot more times than once.
