The weather looks like it will be pretty good this weekend and the urge to take a good drive has reached a pinnacle. Does anyone have any recommendations for a good route to take for an extended weekend drive in the area?

I asked this same question a while back (see thread below) and I didn't get any real response either. Apparently we don't have any good driving roads around here? Well, I give a few suggestions in the thread below. Let me know if you find any others.

I know with a couple of the motorcycle forums, people don't like to publicly state where they ride for fear of the cops. I guess the police will troll the forums looking for where people are riding to then hand out some tickets. Of course if you go the speed limit, there are no worries, but whats the fun of a sports car and pushing the limits a little.

Good point. But someone could have PM'd me! Had a good drive anyway in and around the Fox Valley with myself and a buddy who just took delivery on his '99 F355 Spider.

Find the "guy in charge", he probably has old routes.

US Rt 83 in Waukesha Co. Wisconsin into the Kettle Moraine area is scenic and reasonably twisty in parts but fairly well traveled(and patrolled)so be careful.
A short detour on the way just south of Burlington is the old AMC proving grounds at county P and Warren Rd. It is now used for private testing and sometimes used by law enforcement for driver training. The road on the western border,Wahlburg Rd., offers a pretty clear vantage point of a portion if anything is going on.
Further north just outside Pewaukee is the site of the Lyndale Farms road race course. It has been a housing development for decades but a large portion of the course exists as residential streets.

In Hartford is a very nice auto museum. The Kissel car was manufactured there and they have the largest collection of same and many others. No F-cars as I recall but a well done museum.
On your way home stop in Burlington for a hamburger at Fred's.
