    ALOHA FROM MAUI....
We have to pay by weight for registration, and I had to have my 206 GT alloy bodied Dino weighed today.....factory says 900 kg.=1980 lbs.

Came out on the scales to 2460 lbs. less gas= 2400+ lbs.
What's up with that? The steel bodied ones are supposed to weigh that much....anybody out there ever weighed their 246? The scales were just certified and correct.

900kgs was the lie for homologation in case Ferrari decided to run the car in the FIA GT class. The homologated car that the CSIA / FIA actually checked was hardly stock but looked the part. It would have had zero insulation and been dry, no oil, fuel, water, spare, tools etc... Ferrari would have thinned or lighted the car anyway possible to get it down to a minimum weight.

The real pros at getting cars homologated light are Porsche. You can not even imagine the extremes their engineers used to go through.

I have a FIA GR 4 914/6GT that weighs 2051lbs in full race trim with fuel, oil, rollbar took kit and a small cache of emergency spares. It might not seem like it but that is as light as such cars ever get.

Your car is light. Most 206s will pull 2500+ lbs in full road trim. Later GTs closer to 2800.

    Cheers,

    Bill
