Last week, I put my '85' Euro 308 GTS on some scales owned my a friend of mine to see exactly how much it weighed. It came up 2952 lbs. Now this was with about 2/3 of a tank of gas. If gas weighs about 8 lbs per gallon....and say I had 10 gallons in the tank.....that would add about 80 lbs. So if you subtract the 80 from 2952 that leaves 2872 lbs. In the owners manual, it states; "car curb weight without optionals"-2956 lbs. "Without optionals", does that mean no airconditioning? no radio? Is that 2956 lbs. dry weight? or with a full tank of gas?

Branko -- Thanks for posting the weight data. "Curb Weight" does include a full fuel tank and all "standard" equipment -- so I think that means you do include the AC but maybe not the radio on a 308 GTS.

    From a Ford website:

"Curb Weight: The weight of the vehicle including standard equipment, oil, lubricants and a full tank of fuel. Does not include optional contents or other optional equipment, the weight of driver, passengers or cargo"

Don't know if you had anything else in the car that wasn't "standard", but if you add in the missing fuel and subtract maybe 10~15 lbs for the audio gear it's a little high (~2970ish), but that's good agreement IMO (better than I would have thought knowing how manufacturers, especially sportscar manufacturers, like to fudge this :), and the absolute accuracy of the scales might not be any better than the ~0.5% difference).

FWIW: My US spec 1975 GT4 was right at 3100 with full tank of gas, etc., but no occupants.

Hans -- Is that complete & unmodified (i.e., with two air pumps, thermal reactor, etc.)?

Oops. Lacking pumps and 'thermal reactor'. Has Euro Ansa exhaust. It was weighed with spare tire, tools (both the factory and an aftermarket kit), and 2 oil filters, 3 qts of oil, and a car cover in the trunk.

Drove around looking for several different scales. Estimating fuel consumption between each stop, I got 3100 +/- 10 lbs at each scale.
