Since the Mondial and the 308 share the same engine, I would assume that overall weight has a lot to do with their respective performance. Anyone know the weight of the Mondial?...Weight of 308? How do they handle compared to each other. Thanks for help...Prospective purchaser.

my mondi 8 comes in at 3500lbs
it's wider & longer than the 308 and heavier by i think about ~500lbs or so. it's balanced better due to it's longer wheelbase so highspeed runs are not as twitchy. and if you're over 6' you'll fit the mondial whereas with the 308 it gamble.

twin fuel tanks under the rear seats removes them from the engine bay so less chance of going up in smoke/flame.

i'm now pushing 400+hp so it's now where it should have been in terms of performance. ;)

Wow! makes the 240hp ish feel real slow!

Although the 308 and Mondial share many parts they are totally different cars. The 308 is much older in design (and an icon too) whereas the Mondial was designed in the late seventies and offers a smoother ride, better living room etc and a few more toys but of course suffers a bit in performance.
Having said that, get a QV or 3.2 moving and its quick enough to get you into trouble very fast!

The Mondial was the first Ferrari whose chassis was designed by CAD and feels better put together. The 308 is more tossable.

    Two very different cars.

A US version 308 weights around 3200 lbs., while a Euro version 308 weights around 2900 lbs.
