Is that because the factory weight did not include 'big amplifier, 10 speakers with sub box'........:p:p:p

I was just posting that. Factory weight is 3174 lbs (1440 kilos). So we have a discrepancy of 174 pounds -- before accounting for 50 pounds of aftermarket stuff. Over the spread of 3000+/- pounds and 12 years of scales, road dirt, etc, I guess it's not too bad.

I'll bet you overfilled the oil. :)

    (just kidding)

MY problem with the factory "weight" is that Ferrari was deliberately trying to make the 355 look lighter than the 348, even though the factory added air bags, power seats, power convertible top, power adjustable shocks, power steering, 6 speed tranny instead of 5 speed, larger engine (3.5 liters versus 3.4), larger wheels (18 inch versus 17 inch), and a host of computers to the 355 that the 348 never saw.

The 355 was *never* lighter from the factory than the 348.

My 1997 F355 spider was 3410 lbs. with monster amplifier, sub-box, heavier speakers, full gastank and new tires. I have to weigh it again after I get my custom sized 355 wheel spacers and longer bolts from ricambi. ;) ;) :p

With driver and full tank of gas:

    LF 820 RF 786

    LR 1035 RR 998

    rear weight: 55.8%

    left side: 50.9%

    cross weight 50.00%

    not bad.
