    Quick question for you guys:

I just aquired a Scud and it's in really amazing condition, but right by the top left corner of the passanger side door, but on the body side by the window rubber strip, the red paint has a black mark about 1x0.5 cm. It's completely flush with the red paint, so it actually feels like part of the red paint surface.

Do you think this could be from the factory? Or a spillover from some material from fitting the windows? Or a fix of a scratch (although that would be strange given it's completely flush).

    Thanks!

    try to wax it off.

If that doesn't work, a little rubbing compound.

Still no improvement - leave it alone.

    I'll bet rubber.

I've come home from the track with rubber smudges in some pretty oddball locations, and haven't always caught all of them. And, they can feel very smooth to the touch as well.

If you think that might be it, spend a few dollars on Mothers' 3R Racing Rubber Remover. That stuff works wonders.

Blue clay magic, rubbing compound is a no no if you don't know what you are doing. Clay won't hurt anything and will take anything off of the paint, rubbing compound cuts and could leave swirled marks.
