Not a good thing. On models checked when idling, they usually incorporate baffles inside the oil tank, or arrange the plumbing, to prevent the returning oil from getting on the dipstick and giving a false reading so those might be damaged/missing. However, coolant getting into the oil is possible, too -- have you noticed the coolant level being down or needing topping up lately?
ok, since you replied, thank you. Its not like the oil level increased permanently. It is fluctuating. Last time it was 6 inches higher, and next thing you know, couple days later, its coming back to normal levels as before. at oil temp 180F ,idling , of course.
