Haven't driven my 08 430 spider in about 2 weeks. Started car and everything checked ok. But when I reversed from cold start to get our of parking lot, it was really slow and I heard a whistling noise and an exhaust smell. Then I turned car off and then on, all good. Think this is b/c if a cold start and that I should have ran engine linger than 1 second before starting off?

Most likely. Did you keep it in heated storage, I take it?

Sounds like a blocked exhaust; I assume it did not throw out any codes?

The noise you heard may have been the oil cooler filling up. I believe it can make odd noise if the car has been standing for a while. I've not experienced this personally as my exhaust is rather loud but I've heard it's a noise that can cause concern.

Confused. The first part of your reply implies not to be of concern. But the second part of your reply seems to say I should be concerned.

I should also note that the car was barely moving in reverse and then when I shifted to first gear after it sat for two weeks in a cold garage. Is this normal? I have to imagine this is a function of trying to drive off when the car is cold after it sat for two weeks. The clutch was slipping...

Sorry, No, it's not a need for concern, just sometimes causes concern when people hear a "strange" noise.

It's possible that the cold and the lack of use caused higher idling speed and resulted in more slippage on the clutch in reverse. This could have caused noise and/or smell. I'd be inclined to idle a car that has sat for a couple of weeks for two or three minutes before moving off.
