Experienced a strange situation where when engaging both first gear and reverse the car creeped automatically without any input to the throttle.

Shifted fine and no warning lights.

How many rpm is your car idling at? Could be as simple as turning idle down a bit or possibly an air leak in engine causing higher idle speeds...

You need to get the PIS adjusted. You are getting a little clutch grap. It will damage the surfaces over time. The handbook has the range in it but any competent mechanic will know. After bringing back the setting say .2 go for a test drive. You don't want to go too far on the setting otherwise it will feel like the clutch is slipping off the line. At the same time get the clutch wear reading(not always entirely accurate).

PIS will set itself using an SD2 or SD3 to initiate the sequence.

Thanks for the suggestions of PIS SD2 and idle adjustments.
This happened while I was driving at night .
In the daylight the next day I saw the problem : the floor mat had moved forward and was
Depressing the throttle pedal a little bit!
    Easy fix.
