I moved my 348 out of the garage the other day and there was a small fluid leak on the floor. It wasn't engine oil, brake fluid or any other fluid I could recognise. So I got it up on the ramps and the drip was coming from the rear right hand side top 'A' arm bush. There was nothing above it and now that Ive got it up on the ramps, it hasn't dripped again.

Photos show looking towards the back of the car. Any suggestions?

After I had my last major done I had a small puddle under the car several weeks later. After I checked it out it was the compressor oil from the AC which leaked past the new seal they had installed. It was green in color but would be somewhat further forward on the right than what you have described. Just a thought.

Thanks - Not coolant as mine is red and the fluid does have a slippery consistency.

I'll have a look at the AC compressor but thats much further forward.

a 348? Red fluid? Did you happen to use red coolant? There is nothing on the right hand side except for brake fluid and coolant. Oil would be black.

No my coolant is red, this fluid is more yellow and oily / slippery. This is why its weird, no leaks from above the bush, just from that position.

No, apart from my extensive rear end refurb but that was completed early in the year and Ive used the car since with no issues. Im going to get it down off the ramps today for a closer inspection.

I think he was asking if you have a kitty, or one in the neighborhood who might have sprayed your car. Which does seem like a possibility. Would certainly be worth smelling the fluid to find out, since that would sure be a simple answer. If so, please don't do anything to hurt the little guy. Just put out some mothballs or search up some other solution. I know it's frustrating, but it's natural behavior for un-neutered males.

Well in the end I decided to send all of my shocks off to a company who did a complete re-build on them. As you can see they have used a complete set of new internals (Bilstein will not rebuild) but also have a valve installed on the top of the strut which has 12 settings, No. 6 being factory, 0 being soft, 12 being firm. The new chromed parts of the strut are also all new. Excellent job.

By the way, the poor coating seen on the one in the test rig is from when I originally sent my rear shocks to Bilstein!

The company are also going to start making their own tubes for these as there has been quite a demand recently.
