Anyone have a weird flu just about now? I got some virus last Fri w/ fever & chills. Didn't eat for 4 days but stayed well hidrated. Well the chills are over but now I have a “sunburn” rash from head to mid thigh. Temp is down to 101 during the day. How long is this going to last? BTW: I had hospital issue flu shot. U got it too?

I was sick with all the symptoms except that rash two weeks ago. Fever got to 103.7 on an earscan thermometer (they are notoriously inacurate). It cleared after about 24 hours of really bad symptoms aches, fever, cough, sneezing etc. and I am feeling much better now, thank you. Cough is still present but gets better every day. Good luck with the rash they are a b!tch to diagnose and treat but hydrocortozone and antihistimines work pretty well most of the time. If it dosen't get any better go see a Dermotologist.

You have the Gallus gallus flu. If fever persists for more than 5 days, you should see a doctor.

I had something right after new years but got over it rather quickly. for those that are suffering from the flu, I offer my uncle's sure fire flu cure concoction.

    2 tbs Honey
    4 oz Apple juice
    2 oz Pineapple juice

    ****IMPORTANT*****
Mix these sweet items together first!

    After mixing add the following:

    1 tbs Habenero Cayenne Pepper
    2 tbs olive oil
    3 Garlic cloves
    2 tbs Apple cider vinegar
    The juice of three limes

    Combine all ingredients in blender.
Drink a portion, gargle some before swallowing. This makes about an 8 oz drink.

Say what you want, I've heard it all before but it works for me & the people I've given it to. It doesn't taste great but some things that are good for you have a drawback anyway. The cayenne pepper will help sweat it out & clear your system, but if you not used to it. IT WILL GET YOUR ATTENTION.

    Good luck

    Not true.

Anyway, it is either Gallus or a particularly nasty variant of influenzavirus A called Raphus cucullatus.

i got the same thing over xmas. on the friday leading up to the weekend i felt dizzy and odd, could only drink 3 pints which pissed me off because my xmas's always suck so all i wanted to do was get plastered for a few days and not remember it.

so i conked out friday arvo, woke up sweating bollocks off friday night. saturday spent the day in bed with chills, goosebumps, feverish heat, dizzyness and sweating profusely. saturday night found weird-ass dots like tiny pinpricks all over my feet.

sunday (xmas) woke up feeling a bit better, but was still the same stuff just less intense.

monday woke up looking sunburnt (i am vampire-like pale) on the belly, and the rash spread over the next few hours to entire body. minor version of previous symptoms.

monday night if i so much as touched a part of my skin in any scratch like manner, that whole area would just itch like a b!tch, i'm talking unbearable itchiness, with no apparent extra inflammation or whatever. took a few showers going from extreme hot to freezing cold quickly, sort of werked, but the random itchiness (worst is lower back  ) continued for another day or so.

    yay xmas, my crappiest yet!

uh, no. i didn't take pics, it wasn't anything special, like venus said it was just like sunburn really, or like when you've been laying on grass and you get that slightly blotchy rash on your forearm. apart from being red it didn't really look like a rash.

Drink Foster's! It is just like carbonated Listerine, but without the pleasant after-taste!
