So I'm driving to meet with the guy whose hooking me up with this internship today.

I'm on Ponce de Leon near Emory, which is a 4 lane road, 2 lanes going one way, 2 going the other. Im heading north in the lane next to the double yellow lines, when an Expedition comes from the furthest lane on the other side of the road straight into my lane going about 50 in a 35. I had one hand on the wheel, and turned it about 45 degrees after seeing that oncoming traffic in the nearest lane was far away enough for me to get around him. It all seemed very slow, calm, and surreal. I remember saying "Hm" as he came into my lane...I missed him by a few feet. This all happened in a matter of about 2 seconds. I get back in my lane and look in my rearview, and hes now going the wrong way on my side of the street in the middle of the the road and slams head on into a van.

I pull into someones drive way, get out, dial 911, and get that huge shot of adrenaline.

An elderly lady in the van that was hit was in bad shape, she kept dropping her head and closing her eyes and wouldn't respond with anything understandable when I asked her if she wanted water or
her name etc. Me and another man kept her concious long enough for the ambulance to get her on a stretcher. The driver of the van's chin was also busted open and his elbow had alot of glass embeded in it and was cut pretty badly. I also had to rid the scene of two meth addicts (it was pretty easy to tell) who came out to check out was going on and wouldn't leave us alone.

As is typical of these kinds of accidents, the three black men driving the Expedition who were driving into on-coming traffic were fine. The driver busted his lip, but nothing serious. They didn't have an explanation for the incident.

I gave the police my information and told them my story, I suppose if theres any kind of court case I'll be called in as a witness. I dont see how there could be much of a case though, the incident seems rather black and white, but I guess you never know these days.

The highways here are insane too!!

Any advice on places to stay? I'm still looking.

    What are your thoughts on:

    --Buckhead (general area)
--North Peach Tree (My mentor told me this was a good spot for young people)
    --Georgia Tech Area
    --Emory Area
    --Downtown Ducater

Thanks in advance, pain in the butt since no one wants to lease for 3 months...
