Did you notice they're covering their sidearms with their ready hand except for the one with the stack of passports... Why was the one Lamborghini owner denied entry into Canada?
Its seems as though somebody must have reported us to the County Police, based on car envy or something. Unfortunately for the Police, the Lambo-Ferrari group showed them how very observant we could be towards the local speed laws - so much so - that they couldn't issue any tickets for speeding like they hoped they could. When we got to the border town, we all pulled in for gas, so we were off of state property, so they couldn't discuss with us there. We then pulled onto the street and lined up to go and they talked to a representative of our group about being responsible drivers which I understand the spokesperson assured the local policeman we were, so he let us go. Unfortunately prior to this, the US Boarder Patrol had been alerted to stop us before we left the country and cease our passports. Apparently the local police forgot to tell the Boarder Patrol that they had already talked to us. It delayed us enough that we were an 1/2 hour late for lunch in Kelowna recognizing that some of us felt we had to make up for lost time! If somebody knows something different please post.
Dave has the story right. When we were motioned to the side of the road by the border agents I asked if they were doing us a courtesy and preclearing us through the border . Here's another shot of that moment. Note how Ken appears to be setting up a flanking manuever while Dave is distracting the agents... Image Unavailable, Please Login
In the first photo I am saying "is that a gun in your pocket, or are you just happy to see us?" Once that wasn't well received I told them "if you plan on detaining us any longer, we will need a bucket and a long hose." (Actually, they were pretty nice guys, and wanted to know which car was the fastest.)
Was this going to CA or coming back? Cause if it was going to Canada, what is the US boarder patrol doing confiscating your passports? Don't you just love the police state we are now living under? A lot like 1930s Germany. It's getting scary out there.
Not just in the USA, but in Canada too "Canadian border officers to be armed with guns over 10 years" http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/travel/2003237567_webcanborderofficers31.html All this due to recent club crossing? I think not!
