In 2022 there will be new regulations, right? So Alonso has a chance to clinch the title.

What TV network in Spain holds the broadcast rights for F-1?

Seems to me that Alonso jumped the gun a bit a couple of years ago when he
got into a tie-up with Spanish broadcaster Movistar to broadcast the entire Indy Car
season and he stood to make a good deal of money from the deal as a result.

    Whatever happened with this?

Fernando Alonso: Renault is my family, my fondest memories in Formula One with my two World Championship titles, but I’m now looking ahead.

Alonso: It’s a great source of pride and with an immense emotion I’m returning to the team that gave me my chance at the start of my career and which now gives me the opportunity to return to the highest level. I have principles and ambitions in line with the team’s project.

Alonso: Their progress this winter gives credibility to the objectives for the 2022 season and I will share all my racing experience with everyone from the engineers to the mechanics and my team-mates. The team wants and has the means to get back on the podium, as do I.

    Renault's ever-changing F1 driver line-up:

    2016: Magnussen / Palmer
    2017: Palmer / Hulkenberg
    2018: Hulkenberg / Sainz
    2019: Hulkenberg / Ricciardo
    2020: Ricciardo / Ocon
    2021: Ocon / Alonso

Abiteboul: "The signing of Fernando Alonso is part of Groupe Renault’s plan to continue its commitment to F1 and to return to the top of the field. His presence in our team is a formidable asset on the sporting level but also for the brand to which he is very attached."

Well we know that whatever the results with Senor Fernando it won't be boring and Renault has certainly improved the quality of their driver line up every year since 2016. I really look forward to seeing him on the grid again:) Abiteboul won't let him do the Indy 500 though so this year is his last realistic chance.

This pretty much means Vettel is out for next year at least unless Red Bull or team pink decide to spring a major surprise....but why would they.

Not RedBull. They are set. I understand the relationship between Seb/Marko/Horner BUT team pink is a possibility.

No not Perez, I was thinking that daddy isn't going to keep sonny in the car forever unless he does better. He looked ok this past weekend but it is a very short lap, let's see what Lance does on more challenging circuits.

Took you a few hours to react, this time? What were you doing, taking a nap? He's doing it just to annoy you, Pedro...he's only 38, he might stay for another ten years or so.

No Ocon is locked in, he is very fast, some rate him at the level of Max and Charles though last weekend he was a bit sub par compared to Daniel but he did say he was rusty after not racing last year. Ocon's problem is he is not a team player and he had some very nasty battles with Perez at team pink...imagine a collision between him and Alonso next year woohoo that would bring some tension....
