I can see he was angry when you took the picture! I heard he doesn't like to be caught on camera without any make up!
Why people, as race fans and spectators, wouldn't welcome back one of the all-time greats and one of the best F1 drivers of the last two decades to the starting grid is beyond me. He is always fun to watch. And very few can wring out a car's abilities like he does. I really don't care if the guy is despicable, poisonous to teams or eats babies for breakfast and even skins and barbecues cats in his backyard. I don't have to work with him or deal with him on a daily basis. If he puts on a show behind the wheel and is entertaining to watch (and that he does), I'll gladly have him back. And, BTW, I happen to despise him as a person. So there you go...
I thought nobody wanted him because he’s sooo toxic and dramatic? What’s the record for the number of times a driver returns to his old team anyway? This now makes one return to McLaren and two returns to Renault.
I think because there's a lot of people who don't consider him one of the greatest drivers. Whether he is or not is an opinion... not a fact (like a lot of things going on in the world these days) so I think that some people just don't get all juicy about the hype.
Hard to believe Renault wants him, but eh, it's their team after all. We will see if Alonso can lift Renault's fortune next year. Now Abiteboul can start watching his back ...
No, his glamorous DTM career is just beginning. Can't wait for him to drive an Opel or an Audi. Jeder Popel faehrt n' Opel.
This is all starting to feel like a combination of "Naked and Afraid" and "Survivor." Or in F1 Speak...the "has-beens" vs the "never-will-be's." Otherwise known as beating a dead horse. I'll put my money on the 2022 season not even happening.
He’d be still going faster than in this and next year’s Ferrari so might turn out better for him than expected
His mouth will say he doesn’t mind, but his heart will be broken inside, especially being cast out like that.
Alonso just showed there’s always hope and there doesn’t seem to be many standout young talents at the door
History has shown that, in Formula one, no contract bulletproof / binding. So Alonso - Vettel in 2021 is still viable.
