Kinda wierd. The last couple of days my heart has been "mis-firing" as best as I can tell. Kinda feels like a wierd fluttering in my chest. Anyway, it got to where it was happening like several times a minute today and started to scare me pretty bad, so I chucked myself on over to the ER. Turns out I was having something called "Premature Ventricular Contractions". Basically the way I understand it is my heart is kind of getting ahead of itself. They say it's a very normal thing for people my age and that I really just need more exercise.

Anybody have any experience/tips regarding this? Just kinda wierded out right now...

Check your plugs for detonation or carbon build up?

Seriously though, just eat healthy, and exercise. Simple advice that nobody seems to follow. Also, an apple a day never hurt either ;)

    LOL!
That's exactly where the conversation went when I talked about this with my (mechanic) father. Check the plugs? How about the wires, any cross firing? LMAO!

Oh, and I appreciate the help John.

I was going to go as "sure you didn't miss the ECU recall?" ... but seems like you already covered all these jokes! LOL

Exercise? Mmmmh. Take the stairs and not the elevator. Walk to the mailbox instead of driving. Track your car weekly. And lotsa sex. :) An apple, if you want too.

    Need to retard the timing.

You did the right thing to ease your worried mind - don't mess with your health, aye?
To ease the anxiety further, I think you'll find this is more common than you realize. Mine (I didn't like it either) went away after several years. I don't know what percentages are in countries with higher rates of inbreeding, but:

In the US: PVC is one of the most common arrhythmias and can occur in patients with or without heart disease. Of healthy middle-aged men, more than 60% show PVCs on routine Holter monitoring. Of patients with prior myocardial infarction (MI), more than 80% show evidence of PVCs on Holter monitoring.

That can either be worrisome, or not. Best cure for any ailment is to have a female stick out her tongue and say "aaaaaah."

Thanks for the link, Wax. The doc told me it was pretty common, but still when it involves one's heart one is inclinded to be very cautious. I'll be sure and recommend your final advice to my girlfriend too ;)

Speaking of which, I had the proverbial hot nurse today. Life wasn't TOO bad. :D
