Now if we can get another 1,000 owners to do the same thing it should raise the price of a clean original car. What a horrific site ! The front is a 88 Camaro with the lights and facia
I can appreciate making a car "your own" but why would someone do this?. I would like to see what support (if anything) was added to the underside of the car to make up for removing the roof. That's a real "Pimp My Ride" wing there doncha know. Maybe it only comes out at night.
I've always liked the Koenig cars, which this sort of resembles, but there's just too much going on here.
WOW- this has to deserve a modified caption contest. What is this guy thinking? Image Unavailable, Please Login
I'm surprised no one noticed, but look....... The butchered TRs license plate says probably what the owner(s) already know the F car community is saying DAMUS Yes, damn you! Kerry
The wing on that TR is really funny. And the Ferrari logo on the BB is just plain embarrassing. Like Camembert, a very ripe cheese indeed.
not a fan of the wing, but still this car must be a blast to drive at the limit on the desert hiways.
I am not convinced that is a real Testarossa, anyone got more pics of the interior, or especially the engine bay or under the rear wheel arches. On that thread, If it has started life as a real Testarossa, why put both mirrors on the raised stalks, why have the recessed lights lower than the bonet line, and why go to the trouble of smoothing out the holes from removing the slats. The wheels are close to Ferrari OEMs for Testarossas, but they aren't exact. The 'Pinin' and 'Testarossa' badges are missing, but the front square shield is there, and the crest behind the front arch wasn't a factory standard. The potato-launcher exaust too seems like it's from someone that undestands what makes Silvias & Skylines sound cool, but without too much undestanding of why both the OEM and Tubi parts can't shoot potatoes. Add to that the rear wing is more WRX than group-B Ferrari racer. Too much of this car to me looks like either mis-directed but well assembled and sourced replica - or wreck-turned-project. I guess I can understand taking inspiration from Straman or Koenig - I wouldn't do that; but hey if its your car - do what you want with it.
On some 'early' TR models (this is a spline-hub car, judging from the center-locking wheels - 1986-1987 model year?) two rear-view mirrors were factory-installed at the same elevation as the 1986 single-mirror TR. I have seen VERY few examples of dual-mirror TRs like this. Cavallino Motors from Miami had one they sold for $48K a few years ago..... The body parts look like bolt-on Koenig Turbo TR fiberglass. I think the Targa roof was an option for cars modded by Koenig in Germany. I can't be sure, its been so long since I've seen their mid-1980s brochure. I have a car magazine article from 1980 that tested a Turbo-Targa 512 BB, and I know a few TR Turbo Spyders are out there.... On another note, I've seen other pics of the Yellow Koenig Boxer from Canada on here before - does anyone have a pics of the chromed, F1-style velocity stacks under the hood???
reminded me of this one, altough this one still looks more Testarossa: Best Jurgen Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
The TR now looks like a modified mid '80s Camaro to me. I guess he was going for he F-40 look but got lost on the way. Art S.
