My last trip to NY was spent putting my grandmother's house in order, and When I was there, I found some toys and for kicks showed them off on a few sites only to find people offer to buy them or send me stories of what they remember from their childhood.

I thought these might bring up some memories of those of you around from the 60's. My grandfather owned several soda bottling companies, three of which were N&S (for Nassau and Suffolk), Delicious Drinks Corp (West Babylon) and Metro Beverage Canners and Packers (Pelham Manor).

The can of Coronet was just emptied, and we have a full 6-pack of them still ;) The Metro was also just emptied. The story is that Coronet was also bottled as Chocolate Soldier, if you can still find that.

Up until my grandfather's passing he was working on a powdered 'instant soda' that was just as it sounds, add water and voila!

I also have located a treasured family secret recipe for chocolate soda my grandfather never sold and kept just for us.

I know that guy, I go there everytime I visit my mom in La Canada. It is right next to El Arco Isis, a great little Mexican restaurant. Awesome Carnitas!
