    good morning. i was wondering if any of you out there might know some fun drives in the local area. i am in ibis. i always am looking for a fun drive to take the car and someone on, other than just wherever.

    Hey mate. once all of these fun January car shows (Cavallino, etc...) have ended, there will be a casual event called "Raceshop Run". We meet at a well known competition shop, have a light breakfast and then all take a tour to another shop where we all chat. Then off to the final stop for a light lunch. I'll keep everyone abreast. Note that space will be limited. All the best.

    We used to go to a place where there are no limits, so to speak. The last time there the cops ran us off, but I am up for a drive after the cars shows are done. Maybe a drive up Jupiter Island and then back down US1 by Jonathan Dickinson State Park. I am in Steeplechase just down the road from you. We will also be hosting a BBQ in the spring so you can show up and meet some other south Florida sports car enthusiasts. I have a 1989 348Ts and a Ginetta G20.

    Thanks mate. WHEN IS THE BBQ???

    The "Raceshop Run" (RR) will most likely start at Mosler (eye candy for car eyes) and follow a map to another shop, etc... This has been long overdue and the only reason there is a limit on cars is the issue you mentioned... they get too big and then someone gets stupid and the cops get involved and blah blah blah.

    After yrs of living in the are and planning drives, good luck finding "fun" roads to drive in sfl. Id suggest a track day, other than that everything is straight. You can always take a drive on beeline, very wide, open roads where you can stretch the cars out a little safer.

    A few friends of mine and I go for cruises quite often. Eclectic group: Gallardo, Murc, GT, etc. (the Gallardo is getting a Heffner TT).

    I'm heading to the track at around 9AM or so. And the BBQ has been on the day of the Kentucky Derby the past two years but we will probably try to schedule it a little different this year (too many conflicting things - air/sea show, etc...).
